Mayco Crystal Clear Brushing Glaze (S-2101) – Cone 06 Gloss Clear

Mayco Crystal Clear Brushing Glaze (S-2101) is a dependable, transparent gloss glaze formulated for use at Cone 06. It’s designed to preserve and enhance the surface of your ceramic work, especially when applied over underglaze decoration or intricate textures.

This clear glaze fires to a brilliant glass-like surface that’s also luster-compatible, making it an ideal top coat for layered finishes. While it performs well on most earthenware clay bodies, some red clays may develop a blueish haze, so testing is recommended.

At Cone 6, the glaze remains clear but may be prone to blistering or pinholing, depending on application thickness and firing schedule.

Firing Performance:

• Cone 06 (oxidation): Clean, crystal-clear, glossy finish

• Cone 6 (oxidation): No color change, but potential for blistering or pinholes

• Luster-compatible

• Not ideal for red clay bodies
