Formulated primarily for Cone 06/05, Jungle Gems™ glazes produce stunning results on Cone 04 bisque and may also be fired to higher temperatures, though testing is recommended as crystal movement and glaze flow can vary.

Stunning Crystal Effects
As the glaze matures in the kiln, embedded crystals melt and spread into colorful blooms that create organic patterns impossible to duplicate exactly. The location of the crystals during application strongly influences the final appearance, making every firing unique.
For best results:
- Shake and stir thoroughly before use.
- Stir frequently during application, as crystals naturally settle.
- Redistribute crystals as needed on the final coat.
- Avoid excessive buildup near the base of pieces, where flowing crystals may adhere to kiln shelves.
Great for Layering
Jungle Gems™ can be used alone for dramatic crystal effects or paired with compatible glaze systems to create even more visual complexity. Experiment with layering over or alongside Stroke & Coat®, Foundations®, or Cobblestones® glazes to achieve distinctive finishes.
Firing Information
- Apply 2–3 coats to Cone 04 bisque.
- Fire to Cone 06 or Cone 05 for intended results.

Decorative Use Recommendation
Because crystal blooms can create textured surfaces, crazing, cracks, or crevices that may be difficult to clean thoroughly on low-fire earthenware, Jungle Gems™ are generally best suited for decorative applications. While some colors may meet food-contact testing requirements under certain conditions, textured low-fire surfaces are not recommended for functional dinnerware.
