Mayco Foundations® Glazes provide a dependable, easy-to-use base for ceramic decorating in studios, classrooms, and home workshops. Available in a wide variety of opaque, sheer, and matte finishes, these glazes offer vibrant color, smooth application, and reliable results for artists of all skill levels.
Designed to mature at Cone 06/05, Foundations® Glazes dry quickly between coats, making it easy to complete decorating and fire projects the same day. Opaque colors produce a rich, glossy finish and can be intermixed to create custom shades, while sheer glazes add a translucent tint that allows texture and carved details to remain visible. Matte colors provide a soft, low-sheen surface for a distinctive look.
When used according to the manufacturer's directions, Foundations® Glazes are food safe and dinnerware safe, making them suitable for both decorative and functional ceramic pieces.

Application Tips
For best results:
- Shake well before use.
- Apply to Cone 04 bisque.
- Brush on 2–3 even coats, allowing each coat to dry between applications.
- For large surfaces, use a soft, fully loaded brush and apply coats consistently in the same direction to help minimize brush marks.
Most glossy Foundations® glazes achieve their finished appearance without requiring an additional clear glaze.
Firing Information
- Apply to Cone 04 bisque ware.
- Fire to Cone 06 or Cone 05 for intended results.
- Many colors remain stable at higher temperatures, though performance may vary by individual glaze and kiln conditions.
