Galkyd Lite – Alkyd Resin Medium for Oil Painting

Galkyd Lite is a fluid alkyd resin medium that thins oil colors and increases their gloss and transparency while retaining brushstroke definition. With a thinner consistency than regular Galkyd, it’s excellent for underpainting, fine detail, and fluid washes.

This medium contains Gamsol, a safer solvent, and is ideal for artists looking for faster drying times—thin layers are touch-dry in 24–30 hours. Galkyd Lite can be further diluted with Gamsol for greater control and versatility.

Usage Tips:

• Store upside-down to minimize air exposure and prolong shelf life.

• Add Gamsol if medium thickens over time.

• Only decant what you need for a single session.

• Never use as a varnish—this will increase yellowing.

Note: All drying oils and alkyd mediums will darken if stored in the dark. Keep in daylight when possible to maintain clarity.
