Inspired by the beauty of traditional celadon ceramics, AMACO Celadon Glazes offer a luminous, transparent finish that enhances carved details, stamped textures, and sculpted surfaces. Their glossy appearance and natural pooling effects create depth and visual interest while allowing the underlying form to shine through.
Available in a wide range of vibrant colors, Celadon Glazes are 100% intermixable, making it easy to blend custom shades and expand your creative palette. They produce especially striking results on white clay bodies and can be layered with compatible glazes for even greater artistic possibilities.
Formulated for Cone 5–6 firing, these food-safe glazes are ideal for both decorative and functional ceramics when fired according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

Enhance Texture with Transparent Color
Unlike opaque glazes, AMACO Celadon Glazes allow carved lines, impressed patterns, and textured surfaces to remain visible beneath a rich layer of color. The glaze naturally pools in recesses, creating depth and emphasizing fine details.
Create a Custom Palette
Every Celadon color can be mixed with other colors in the series, allowing artists to:
- Blend unique hues
- Create subtle gradients
- Develop signature glaze recipes
- Expand creative possibilities without purchasing dozens of separate glazes
Great for Layering
Celadon Glazes also work beautifully in layered applications and are often paired with AMACO Potter's Choice Glazes (commonly applied in a 3-coat/3-coat combination) to create complex and visually dynamic surfaces.
